Llongyfarchiadau Ysgol Trellech

We are proud to share that we have been awarded the Gwobr Arian (Silver Award) for all our hard work in Welsh.

The pupils and staff  blew away our Welsh Adviser, Mrs Rhian Woolley when she visited the school.

Bwrdd Cymrage Newydd!

Criw Cymraeg are presenting certificates in our Welsh assemblies on Mondays. They present to the speaker of the week in each progression step and award points and a trophy to the class who  has used the phrase of the week most.

Our Criw Cymraeg help to ensure that Welsh is spoken and rewarded in school through a range of actions. These include:

  • Taking Welsh assemblies to introduce the Welsh phrase 'Brawddeg Cymraeg', ;leading Welsh prayers and to hold quizzes or talk about Welsh legends, history, celebrations or celebrities.
  • Monitor the use of Welsh around the school.
  • Keep the Sgriblo sydyn board updated and ensure pupils are using regularly.
  • Reward the class with the most points collected when asked the 'Brawddeg Cymraeg'. They will receive the Dosbarth yr wythnos (Class of the week) award.
  • Award certificates and stickers for 'Siaradwr cymraeg yr wythnos' to a pupil in each of the different phases of the school in Friday's celebration assembly
  • Update the Criw Cymraeg Welsh board with the Welsh phrase and the 'Siaradwr cymraeg yr wythnos'
  • Ensure all classes have the 'Phrase of the fortnight' and 'Bocs Bendigedig' updated
  • We have created a video about the importance of the Welsh language.
