What is Humanities?

Humanities allows:

  • Children to develop an understanding of Geography, History and RVE skills.
  • Opportunities to learn about the world we live in and how it has evolved.
  • The ability to express themselves, through imaginative inspiring lessons and tasks.
  • Children to build on skills, knowledge and understanding through the study of their own locality, the world beyond and different environments.

 At Trellech we are:

  • Committed to encouraging our pupils to learn in creative and exciting ways.
  • Continuing to develop the partnership of home and school, as this is critical in shaping children and young people, and their future careers.
  • Encouraging and making good use of our local community links. We feel it is important that our pupils value and respect the community they live in as well as the wider world.

Having a well-rounded approach:

  1. Use authentic learning opportunities to develop Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and thinking Skills.
  2. We use investigation planning, enquiries, researching and data gathering.
  3. Exploring field work, places, environments to support our local community.
  4. Drawing on conclusions and experiences to learn about our local community and the wider world around us.
